Illinois releases Cannabis Report FY2024 (IDFPR portion)

Changes to cannabis occupation tax rate start July 1

According to the press release, dispensaries must adjust cash register and any computer program so that beginning on July 1, 2025, dispensaries will collect and pay the correct tax rate. These taxes, however, are not imposed on cannabis purchased under the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Program Act.
