It is Time to Acknowledge Reality and End Federal Marijuana Prohibition

Currently, ten states and the District of Columbia have legalized the adult use of marijuana and thirty-three states and DC have medical marijuana programs. This is not just good policy, but good politics. As long as marijuana remains a Schedule I substance, federal policy remains ignorant of this fact.

Legislation is pending, Senate Bill 34, which would exempt compassionate care programs from paying state cannabis taxes when they are providing free medical cannabis to financially disadvantaged people living with serious health conditions.
