Florida: State Lawmakers Vote to Restore Patients’ Right To Smoke Medical Cannabis

On March 13, members of the Florida state House of Representatives voted 101 to 11 to approve legislation (Senate Bill 182) to re-legalize the inhalation of herbal cannabis formulations for medical purposes. Under this proposal, patients would be permitted to possess up to four ounces of herbal cannabis.

On June 25, 2025, the Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) took the following actions: Expanding Cannabis Metals Testing Requirements LCB filed a Preproposal Statement of Inquiry (CR-101) to consider amending chapter 314-55 WAC, including WAC 314-55-102, to respond to a petition for rulemaking accepted by the Board in 2024.
