In all of the news about New York’s Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) starting to accept applications for Conditional Adult-Use Retail Dispensary ( CAURD ) license applications, one glaring piece of information was missing: will the OCM review applications on a rolling basis starting on August 25, 2022? Or, will OCM review applications all together when the application window closes on September 26, 2022?

The city of Denver, Colorado, decriminalized the possession and use of psilocybin in 2019—the first U.S. city to do so. Now, a psychedelic-focused bill aimed at reforming laws surrounding psychedelics further in the state has successfully qualified for the November ballot. Colorado could legalize psychedelics. The Colorado Secretary of State’s office announced earlier this month that the Natural Medicine Health Act received enough qualifying signatures to make it to this November’s ballot.

Marijuana Moment reports. Another federal agency is reminding employees that they’re prohibited from using marijuana and warning them about the risks of consuming federally unregulated CBD products. The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) human resources division posted a notice on Monday that says while cannabis is legal in some form in a majority of states, federal workers “must remain drug-free and refrain from illegal drug use whether on or off duty regardless of state laws.”.

Medical: No Recreational: No Reciprocity: N/A. Both medical and adult-use cannabis are illegal in Kansas, and possession of any amount of cannabis is considered a class B misdemeanor. The state allows the sale and use of CBD products with 0% THC. Medical patients with a letter from a doctor won’t face a conviction for possession of CBD oil with up to 5% THC, but can still be arrested and charged with possession.

Oregon Live. Marijuana retailing giant Curaleaf has agreed to a $130,000 fine and a 23-day suspension to resolve state regulators’ investigation into the company’s manufacturing blunder last summer. A Curaleaf bottling plant in Portland mixed up drops of THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, with CBD wellness drops. Made from hemp, CBD is widely available in grocery stores and doesn’t usually include the ingredient that gives users a high.

The 69th meeting of the Medicines Classification Committee will include an agenda item on the down-scheduling of low dose cannabidiol (CBD) from Schedule 4 (Prescription Only) to Schedule 3 (Pharmacist Only) under certain conditions by the TGA in Australia. Low dose cannabidiol refers to daily dose of <150 mg.
