Perth-based medical cannabis company Cannaponics has signed an MoU with medical products supplier Avacare Health Australia, covering development of a new factory at Collie, supply of Cannaponics’ products, and R&D on hemp-based plastics and textiles. According to an announcement from the company last week, it will build the new 2,000 square metre facility for processing cannabis flower next to a 3,600 square metre greenhouse currently under construction at Collie.

Legalise Cannabis Australia party sees record Queensland Senate votes in federal election

ABC Australia reports on the huge swing garnered by the Australia Cannabis Party in Queensland. With 34 per cent of the vote counted, Legalise Cannabis Australia has so far garnered 74,972 Senate votes, a swing of nearly 5 per cent from their 2019 results. Their candidate Bernard Bradley is within striking distance of the sixth Senate seat, ahead of high-profile minor party candidates Clive Palmer and Campbell Newman.
