In 2018 Canada legalized recreational cannabis use, becoming the first G7 country to do so and only the second country after Uruguay, which legalized cannabis in 2013. Patients in Canada can legally possess the lesser of 150 grams or a 30-day supply of dried cannabis, as well as the 30 grams allowed for non-medical purposes.

In a 2013 study performed on rodents with colitis, researchers stated that CBG “attenuated murine colitis,” and concluded that CBG “could be considered for clinical experimentation in IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) patients.” CBG products are available in a variety of forms including oils, gummies, capsules, and topical solutions.
