Detroit Agrees to Allow Licensed Marijuana Sales

On Tuesday Detroit’s city council gave approval to a city-wide ordinance which would allow licensed marijuana retail outlets to operate within the city. The ordinance would allow 75 marijuana retail outlets and up to 35 marijuana lounges. The ordinance, which was introduced by Councilmember James Tate, would require that at least half of all marijuana business licenses are distributed by those who actually live in Detroit.
