The passing of Senate Bill 1559 is another example of how the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act continues to evolve. Next week, Senate Majority Leader Kimberly A. Lightford is scheduled to host an informative town hall meeting to discuss several aspects of Illinois’ sometimes confusing cannabis law. The event is free and open to the public. Residents are encouraged to join Lightford and a variety of experts and stakeholders from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 15.

One of my favorite aspects of the Illinois cannabis industry is watching craft producers come online and continue to grow. Take Kaviar for example. Every time I check the menu, I see new Kaviar strains. I recently spotted WEPA at the label’s flagship Star Buds Burbank dispensary and stopped in to pick up a sample. WEPA is an indica-leaning hybrid cross of Whoody Melon and Platinum OG.
