Hemp Grower Magazine Announces Appointment of New Senior Level Editors; Additional Staff Hires and Promotions

Here’s their update on the new editorial team

VALLEY VIEW, OH (February 11, 2021) – Hemp Grower magazine, owned by B2B publishing company GIE Media Inc., announces the promotions of two senior-level editors and two new hires to continue to advance this rapidly growing media brand launched in November 2019.

Bennett

Theresa Bennett, formerly Hemp Grower managing editor, has been promoted to Editor. Bennett will be responsible for driving the editorial direction and running the daily operations of the monthly print magazine, under the leadership of Editorial Director Noelle Skodzinski. She will also work with Digital Editor Eric Sandy to continue to grow the digital media assets of the brand, including HempGrower.com and the Hemp Grower e-newsletter.

Bennett began her career at GIE Media in 2018. She joined the Hemp Grower team in 2020 as Associate Editor and was quickly promoted to Managing Editor later that year. Previously, Bennett served as a Metro Student Correspondent and Reporter at Akron Beacon Journal/Ohio.com. She is a graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Magazine Journalism.

“Since Theresa joined the team at Hemp Grower, the entire team has been incredibly impressed with her editorial skills and passion for the hemp industry,” Skodzinski said. “I’m looking forward to seeing how she grows in this role and how she will lead the Hemp Grower brand in its mission to be a trusted resource for legal hemp farmers in North America.”

Williams

Patrick Williams, formerly Senior Editor of Hemp Grower, as well as GIE Media sister publications Cannabis Business Times and Cannabis Dispensary magazines, has been promoted to Managing Editor of Hemp Grower. Williams will be responsible for editing, content creation and working with Hemp Grower’s esteemed contributors and columnists to produce in-depth, actionable and relevant cultivation and business content for the print magazine and the brand’s digital assets.

“Patrick has been an invaluable asset to the Cannabis Group, and we’re thrilled to promote him to this new leadership position,” Skodzinski said. “He is hard-working, dedicated and terrifically talented, and those qualities will help lead Hemp Grower through its transition in 2021 from a bimonthly publication to a monthly publication.”

Anthony Lange has been hired as Associate Editor for Hemp Grower and its sister publications Cannabis Business Times and Cannabis Dispensary, where he will work under Digital Editor Eric Sandy to contribute primarily digital content to support the brands’ ongoing growth in web traffic, with additional contributions to the brands’ print magazines. He spent the past decade working in the weekly newspaper business, contributing to the Chagrin Valley Times as a beat reporter, sports editor, photographer and page designer. Before that, he was a staff assistant for a congressman in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., where he drafted responses to constituent letters and aided the communications director. Lange is a graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism.

Ruscitto

Andriana Ruscitto has also been hired as Assistant Editor for Hemp Grower, Cannabis Business Times, and Cannabis Dispensary magazines. She also will contribute primarily to the brands’ digital media, with additional contributions to the print magazines. Before joining GIE Media, Ruscitto attended Kent State University, where she worked in the university communications and marketing department, writing stories and managing other contributors for Kent State Today. Ruscitto graduated from Kent State in December 2020 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing.
