Possible penalties for cannabis in Qatar
Qatar has a zero-tolerance policy for drugs, and cannabis is no exception. While the country is notoriously tight-lipped about specifics regarding breaking laws, smuggling any substance can lead to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $80,000. Possession, public consumption, and growing are all crimes that have steep punishments.
Non-Qatar residents with drug charges may be deported. Offenders with repeat drug charges (even charges from outside Qatar) could face the death penalty. According to The Athletic, embassies are typically unable to intervene when a citizen of their country is detained there on drug-related charges.

The threat of 20 years in jail should be enough to dissuade you from trying to buy cannabis from strangers.
