Review: Pomegranate Blueberry Acai 5:1 CBD:THC Gummies by Wana
After reading studies pointing to the benefits of CBD use among daily THC users, I’ve been adding the compound to my daily intake with increasing frequency. I recently encountered Wana Pomegranate Blueberry Acai 5:1 Gummies in the menu at Curaleaf Skokie so I stopped in and picked up a sample.
Wana Pomegranate Blueberry Acai 5:1 gummies come as a twenty pack of gummies with 5mg of THC and 25mg of CBD per piece. The ingredients are organic sugar, organic tapioca syrup (organic tapioca starch, water) water, pectin, potassium sodium tartrate, polyphosphate, sucrose, citric acid, cannabis extract (CBD isolate, distillate, ethanol, terpenes) natural flavor/natural pomegranate blueberry flavor, natural acai type flavor) vegetable and fruit juice for color, sodium citrate, and botanical terpenes.
Each gummy was a deep crimson-maroon colored sugarcoated square, three-quarters of an inch across and a quarter-inch thick. The texture of Wana gummies was unique, a soft gumdrop-style chew that put up very little resistance to the teeth and no bounceback.
The aroma hit as soon as I popped the top with a sweet and tangy scent of pomegranate and blueberry juice. The flavor carried this fruity sweetness at the top of the palate, but there was no masking the 30mg of cannabinoids as the back of the palate provided a bitter medicinal finish. Even with the bitter punch at the end of the flavor profile, the taste cleared quickly and did not linger.
The experience opened around a half hour post gummy with strong inflammation relief in my joints and back before building into an overall sensation of lightness that made moving easier. The mental aspect was more subtle, but there was an ease to “choosing my battles wisely” as small problems irritated me less. The 5:1 ratio of 25 mg of CBD and 5 mg of THC was light enough that I could take it anytime without concern. After several days of using these gummies back-to-back my inflammation levels had fallen noticeably, pushing me even further into experimenting with CBD.
