Review: Equal Pay: Florida Oranges by Canna Bella Lux
While several social equity craft labels have come to market, only a few focus branding on social equity causes. Canna Bella Lux highlights the female roots of the brand, focusing on “celebrating women, wellness & weed.” I recently stopped into Parkway Dispensary and had the chance to pick up the brand’s Equal Pay: Florida Oranges eighth to review.
Florida Oranges is a hybrid leaning hybrid cross of Key Lime Surprise and Clementine. This batch of flower tested at 0.74% THC, 18.21% THCa, and 19.63% total cannabinoids.
A handful of slightly smaller than popcorn flowers carried a bright lime-green-base tone accented by fire-orange hairs and deeper turf-green sugar leaf remnants. These flowers were very dense to the touch but sprung back to life with a fluffy character revealing itself in the grind.
The scent was a tangy blend of hot diesel, dried hops, vinegar, and salty ocean on the top end with a rich earthy forest floor tone appearing at the finish. The smoke was flavorful and smooth and even large bong rips were easy on the throat. The flavor was sweeter than the aroma with the namesake orange finally appearing at the front end, followed closely by light floral notes of rose and cherry blossom with tangy diesel coming in to support the finish.
Equal Pay: Florida Oranges was a two-sided experience that opened quickly with an energetic rush and tingling euphoric sensation appearing by the ten minute mark that then slowly dissipated over the following half hour. As the energy disappeared, a clearheaded, quiet calm took over my mind while the tingling euphoria became an overall pain and inflammation relief that hung on for the better part of two hours. Equal Pay: Florida Oranges was best fit for the end of the day when I could really enjoy the long tail of relaxing effects. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
