Social Equity Symposium set for Feb. 28
The landscape for the Illinois cannabis industry is often complicated, especially for the latest social-equity adult-use license holders. To help navigate this landscape, the Social Equity Empowerment Network (S.E.E.N.) and Illinois Independent Craft Growers Association (IICGA) are scheduled to present the Social Equity Symposium, which has been billed as “an evening of connecting with industry experts and gaining much-needed insight and resources to aid in becoming operational.”
The Social Equity Symposium is scheduled for 4-8 p.m., February 28, and should provide “Start Up Support and Resources” for social-equity adult-use license holders. The South Shore Cultural Center, located at 7059 South Shore Drive in Chicago, is set to host the event. Tickets are free for all license holders. To RSVP, click here.
“We are here to assist social equity business owners to be successful by providing the tools needed to become operational and get the knowledge needed to conduct business in this highly regulated industry,” S.E.E.N. stated. Attendees may expect general contractors, finance, banking, software providers, security, human resources, testing labs, and much more.
S.E.E.N. is “an association of entrepreneurs, professionals, and enthusiasts interested in attaining equity ownership and advocating for equity in emerging markets.” IICGA is for “members of the independent cannabis craft grower community that are committed to helping one another succeed in an industry that has already proven to be geared toward domination by big business.”
As part of the agenda, Dr. Mila Marshall will speak. Three topics include Gaining , Vetting , Training & Retaining Your Talent, What’s The 411? A Word from Our Regulators, and Your Buildout….Navigating Pitfalls. For more Illinois cannabis industry news, visit here.
