We are currently partnering with a leading international Cannabis Company that is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join their Legal team. This calls for an experienced corporate attorney that will play a key role in managing and executing legal matters related to the companies business functions. You will frequently be interacting with C-level stakeholders & board members, providing them with guidance and support as needed. This company is accepting candidates that can sit in New York City or Boston.
Responsibilities:
- Managing contract law to disputes, department management, and acting as secretary to the Board of Directors
- Provide legal support on day-to-day legal matters including contract negotiation and review, intellectual property protection, securities law compliance, and commercial disputes
- Structuring transactions, including integration of tax and regulatory considerations
- Review disclosures and develop processes to ensure compliance with the Company’s disclosure obligations
- Staying up-to-date on regulatory and institutional requirements as they relate to the medical and recreational marijuana industry
Qualifications:
- Experience working in a regulated/fast-paced environment is preferred
- Securities law/public company experience is a plus
- Strong ability to multi-task and manage a range of legal projects at once
- 6+ years of post-JD legal experience
