USA Psychedelic Bar Association Form Committees To Tackle Myriad Of Legal Issues

We thought it would be interesting to highlight some of the committees formed, who’s on them and what they are discussing.

Committee Updates 

  • The Corporate Forms and Business Practices Committee has been meeting regularly since mid-March (Stewards: Rebecca Lee and Josh Kappel, Board Rep: Nicole Howell). Committee members passed internal processes for decision making and are discussing a variety of issues related to corporate governance and public benefit-based business models.
  • The Ethics Committee (Steward: Jeff Merk, Board Rep: Roman Haferd) has held two meetings and will meet monthly. The Committee is considering a proposal regarding public benefit-based business models, as well as ethical considerations for attorneys working in the space.
  • The Intellectual Property Committee (Steward: Graham Pechenik, Board Rep: Craig Guthery) will be hosting their respective kick-off meetings in the coming weeks.
  • The Legalization and Regulation Committee (Steward: Gary Smith, Board Rep: Hadas Alterman) has been meeting regularly since mid-March and is considering internal processes for decision making and agenda setting for the committee’s work.
  • The Litigation and Advocacy Committee (Steward: Matt Zorn, Board Rep: Kathryn Tucker) held their first meeting and will be considering internal decision making and agenda setting for the committee’s work.
  • The Religious Use Committee has been meeting regularly since February (Steward: Martha Hartney, Board Rep: Ariel Clark). Committee members passed internal processes for decision making and are working on deliverables to be produced by the Committee.
