NFL Players Seek Change in League’s Marijuana Policy Following MLB Doing So

With the MLB easing its policy on marijuana use, players in the NFL are hoping that, and asking for their league to do the same. Major League Baseball (MLB) removed natural cannabinoids and marijuana from its “Drugs of Abuse” list last month. Now, former football players told Reuters a similar policy would be a positive step for management of chronic pain in the NFL.

In the 2019 New York State legislative session, which runs from January through June of each year, comprehensive cannabis legislation failed to garner enough support to pass as part of the budget or as standalone legislation.

In her opinion filed on Tuesday, Court of Appeals Judge Monica Zamora wrote that medical cannabis producers should be able deduct gross receipts taxes just as pharmacies do for sales of prescription drugs.

Bill to Allow Possession of Up to 3 Ounces of Marijuana Introduced in New York
