Normal activities came to a halt in Nairobi’s Central Business District for the better part of Monday, March 27, morning.

Busy streets were deserted with just a handful of people walking in the areas. Police officers could also be seen strategically positioned in most parts of the city.

Only a few Kenyans were spotted in town. [Samson Wire, Standard]

Business premises in the CBD remained closed for fear of incurring losses in case the protests turned chaotic.

By 10:30 am, police attached to the Anti-Riot Unit had blocked the processional way which leads to State House.
