News from Wellington Water
Crews are working to repair a burst drinking water pipe on the intersection of Hunter Street and Jervois Quay in central Wellington.

Water has been turned off. The affected area is 2-20 Victoria Street on both sides and 2-86 Jervois Quay on both sides (including Queens Wharf).

Post Office Square is also affected.

We’re expecting the water to be off for at least six hours. There is also a fair amount of debris that the crews are clearing.

Traffic northbound on Jervois Quay is reduced to one lane, and the entrance to Hunter Street from Jervois Quay is closed to traffic.

Traffic management is onsite. Please expect delays in this area this morning.

Crews are working hard to excavate the pipe to repair it but unfortunately this is going to take longer than expected. We now expect water to be back on around 1pm today.
