Study Finds Marijuana Use Associated with Less Non-Prescription Opioid Use Among Pain Patients

New research shows that those suffering from persistent pain who use marijuana on a daily basis are less likely to use opioids that fall outside of prescribed guidelines. The research was published in the journal PLOS One – the name of the study is Frequency of cannabis and illicit opioid use among people who use drugs and report chronic pain: A longitudinal analysis.
