Hemp CBD Across State Lines: Oklahoma

The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 ( 2018 Farm Bill ) legalized hemp by removing the crop and its derivatives from the definition of marijuana under the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) and by providing a detailed framework for the cultivation of hemp. The 2018 Farm Bill gives the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulatory authority over hemp cultivation at the federal level.

Santa Monica City Attorney Announces Dismissals Of Marijuana Convictions

Santa Monica City Attorney Lane Dilg announced the completion of the 5 county “Clear My Record” pilot on Thursday, February 13. The pilot program has cleared marijuana related jail convictions eligible for relief under Proposition 64. Proposition 64 declares the personal possession and use of marijuana as decriminalized. Under this proposition, adults 21 years of age and over may possess and grow specified amounts of marijuana for recreational use.

Georgia’s HB 847 Pushes To Re-Criminalize Hemp Possession

Barely a year after the legalization of hemp by the federal government with the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill , state lawmakers in Georgia are pushing to re-criminalize possession of small amounts of the plant. Under a bill approved on Tuesday by the Georgia House of Representatives’ Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Committee, anyone possessing “green leafy” hemp or transporting hemp plants would be required to carry paperwork proving they are working for a licensed hemp business.
