The Montana Supreme Court this week approved temporary rules that outline procedures for expunging or revising marijuana-related convictions. When Montana voters legalized recreational cannabis sales in November of 2020, they also created a path for clearing criminal records of actions that are now legal. Under the state’s recreational marijuana law, people previously convicted of offenses that are now legal can petition to have their conviction re-sentenced or expunged from their record.
