Invitation: THC Compound Evaluation Session on Draft Conceptual Rules

The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) is hosting a Listen and Learn session about draft conceptual rules on the evaluation of THC compounds. The session is designed to get public and licensee feedback before the rules are finalized.

The LCB Board began to consider establishing a new rule section allowing the LCB to evaluate additives, solvents, ingredients or compounds used in the production and/or processing of marijuana products other than delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol, as well as CBD, hemp or both, converted to delta-8, delta-9 THC, or any other marijuana compound that is not currently identified or defined in the Revised Code of Washington (RCW), the Washington Administrative Code (WSR), or both, to determine whether such substances pose a risk to public health or youth access. The preproposal statement of inquiry (CR 101 was filed as WSR 21-14-117 on July 7, 20201) and can be viewed here.

Please review this guidance document, the draft conceptual rules, and the session agendabefore the forum and come prepared to offer feedback and suggestions for revisions to the draft.

In preparing to address this issue LCB held two Deliberative Dialogue sessions concerning cannabis plant chemistry on June 3 and July 30, 2021. Notes and materials from those meetings can be located here.

WHEN: Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
