Kush21 Jacksonville to host grand opening Friday
One year ago, Washington State’s longest-operating cannabis-dispensary retailers, Kush21, applied for a dispensary license in Illinois. Kush21 received its official license last Friday. This Friday, February 17, Kush21 is scheduled to host a ribbon cutting for its official grand opening in Jacksonville.
Kush21’s official opening is set to kick off with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. Kush21 is located at 1112 Veterans Drive (next to the city’s Post Office and Ashley Furniture) in Jacksonville. The event also is set to host cultivars, live music, and food truck.
The Jacksonville retail store, open 8 a.m-9 p.m. daily, will be the first Kush21 dispensary in Illinois. The dispensary features 4,300 square feet of retail space and more than 1,000 products for sale. Kush21 Jacksonville will offer a variety of deals and community-based discounts with regular updates posted at its website.
According to Kush21, Founder and CEO Michale Beraki described the opening of this dispensary as an opportunity to be the example of a successful black-owned cannabis business in Illinois, one that is legitimately working for a favorable social, economic, and legal environment for the cannabis industry in Jacksonville, and a more diverse and inclusive industry across the country.
“We’re excited to bring Kush21 to Jacksonville because we feel like our experience and tenure in this industry can be an asset to the local community of consumers, aspiring cannabis entrepreneurs, and industry as a whole.” Beraki said.
