The Green Is No Longer Only To Be Smoked – Explore The Options!

Cannabis has been consumed through smoking for many years until it became legal in many countries and states. A wide array of cannabis products have been released on the market in the last couple of years. If you want to switch it up and try cannabis without the smoking part, cannabis can be consumed in a variety of ways.

However, each product is consumed differently and some of them don’t get you the “high” you want. Read on to know what the options are and how to find the right cannabis product for you.

Cannabis Flower

The cannabis flower is the most used type of cannabis since its legalization. You get to roll a bud and smoke the good old-fashioned way and enjoy its “high” and medicinal properties. There are also other ways for smoking cannabis such as smoking it out of a pipe, bong rips, and a bowl. It gives a quick high as the cannabinoids go directly to your bloodstream through your lungs.

You can buy it as a dried flower or pre-rolled joints if you want to save some time. The high can last from one to three hours depending on the potency of the strain. There are no standard dosing instructions, so make sure not to over-consume it.

Concentrates

Concentrates are the desirable compounds of cannabis (cannabinoids and terpenes) after removing the plant material and other impurities. Naturally, concentrates have higher levels of terpenes and cannabinoids than dried buds. Cannabis concentrates can be found in vaping cartridges and they can be sprinkled on cannabis flowers to increase their potency.

You can also vaporize concentrates by heating a nail made of glass, titanium, or ceramic and then pouring the concentrate over it and inhaling the vapor coming out of it. Concentrates are extremely potent so they have a quick onset and you need only a small amount to feel the effect. However, it can be easy to overconsume concentrates due to their potency and they require some investment to consume such as vaporizers or dab rigs.

Edibles

When cannabis was first made into edibles, it was in the form of gummy bears or cookies only. Nowadays you can find a wide range of cannabis edible products as seen on Bud Brothers Dispensary such as chocolate, baked goods, gummies, soft drinks, and alcohol-infused beverages. You just have to eat or drink these edibles to feel the effects which makes this type of cannabis product hassle-free.

If you don’t like smoking or vaping, edibles are great for you as all you have to do is eat a gummy or pop a drink. You don’t need any tools like other products to consume cannabis so they save you some money. The dosage is precise and found on the package label which makes you aware of the amount of cannabis you are consuming.

However, it can take you 20 minutes to three hours to feel the effect as the cannabinoids in edibles go through the digestive system instead of the lungs. This effect delay can make you digest more than advised and make you feel a long-lasting intense high. Read the label carefully as you might overconsume without knowing.

Tinctures

Cannabis tinctures are created by steeping cannabis in alcohol. They are usually contained in a small bottle with a dropper. A tincture is consumed by putting a few drops sublingually, or under the tongue. The blood vessels under the tongue absorb the compounds in the tincture and transfer them to the bloodstream. Any cannabinoids not absorbed will go down the digestive system and get absorbed like edibles.

The high effect can take as fast as 15 minutes, but if the majority of the tincture was absorbed by the digestive system, it can take as much time as edibles. It is easy to control how much you want as there is precise dosing instruction. The taste can be unsavory for many people so the tincture can be mixed with food or drinks. Naturally, it will have a delayed effect.

The unpredictability of how fast the consumer will feel the effect doesn’t make tinctures an attractive product for consumers. Additionally, they can be more expensive than other products.

Topicals

Topicals are lotions, creams, balms, or salves that contain cannabis compounds and are applied to the skin. They don’t give a high like other cannabis products, but they give localized effects on the area of the body where they are applied. They are used mainly for medicinal purposes to relieve pain. There are various cannabis topical products so you will find the right product you are looking for, but if you are looking for a high effect, you will not find it with topicals.

More cannabis products will be manufactured over time, and you should keep yourself updated with all the changes. You can find whatever you want by visiting your local cannabis store or online. Consume moderately and make sure to get the dosage right to avoid unpleasant intense high effects.
