  • According to the hawkers, they have been lumped together with other able-bodied hawkers and kicked out of the CBD

Asige is visually impaired

Asige, who is visually impaired, was flanked by people who are physically challenged in various ways, and she decried the decision in an emotional speech delivered in the heart of the CBD.

“I don’t understand why the county government, the capital city of Nairobi, would push people with disabilities to get out of the city, from empowering themselves and taking care of their kids,” she said.
