Compliance Manager Cali Distribution – San Francisco, CA

Our company is seeking a Compliance Manager who can analyze our business method and insure that our operations are in compliance with all local, state and federal labor laws, as well as the laws that govern business practices. The Compliance Manager will be responsible for reviewing responses to official customer inquiries and correspondence with government agencies to ensure that they are complete and proper._ If you have prior experience working in compliance in the distribution sector and have cannabis experience, we need you on our team._

Responsibilities

  • Development of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Development, implementation, and management of the Company’s Compliance Program
  • Planning, regulating, and overseeing risk-related programs
  • Collaborate with management team to make sure that the entire company is aware of compliance requirements and issues
  • Develop internal controls and policies designed to ensure that all compliance needs are met
  • Creating and coordinating proper reporting channels for compliance issues
  • Monitors and negotiates the scope of the compliance work and commitments
  • Arranging compliance training for the Company’s employees
  • Development of strong working relationships with clients, both internal and external
  • Representing the Company in its communications with federal and state authorities regarding regulatory matters
  • Remaining abreast of new or amended regulations and laws related to cannabis industry and AML/CTF regulation, and analyzing their potential impact to the Company’s business
  • Provides daily direction, communication, training, and oversight to the team to ensure efficient productivity

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in law, finance or a related field is required
  • A minimum of 2+ years experience in the cannabis-related field in a position of a compliance officer/manager
  • 2+ years of relevant management experience
  • 5+ years of operations management in a distribution setting
  • Ability to draft meaningful reports and adapt quickly to change and deliver quality results in a timely manner.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a clear understanding of the business and the ability to identify sound opportunities for business improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of the Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (“MAUCRSA”) and any and all regulations promulgated under or in furtherance of MAUCRSA including, but not limited to those released by the California Bureau of Cannabis Control (“BCC”), the California Department of Public Health (“CDPH”), the California Department of Food and Agriculture and the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (“CDTFA”)
  • Ability to travel (business trips within the State).
