Mexico: 70% Say Lets Get On & Legalize Cannabis

A study carried out by the Public Opinion Center of the University of the Valley of Mexico (COP UVM) found that 70% of Mexicans are in favor of the legalization of marijuana.

According to Industry 420 , the age group between 25 and 35 years is the one that most supports legalization. For its part, the group over 55 years of age is the one that shows the greatest disagreement.

In addition, when asked about the advantages of legalization, the majority responded “that the sale of marijuana is carried out under government regulation” and the “collection of taxes.”

Meanwhile, the most notable disadvantage (80%) is that “there will be an increase in the use of marijuana and other drugs.”

In turn, 47% of those surveyed said they were poorly informed about cannabis , while 39% said they were.

Regarding cultivation for personal consumption, 65% said they agree to legalize it. And, regarding the consumption of cannabis in private spaces, 66% are in favor, and 79% against consumption in public spaces.
