Cannabis Farmers Market in ClevelandPosted by On

CLEVELAND (WJW) — A first time event in Ohio provided the cannabis growing community the tools and education needed to get started with home grow — a skill that’s seeing high interest as Ohioans wait to be able to purchase legal cannabis.

The Ohiocannabis.com Farmers Market was held at RedSpace in Cleveland Sunday.

“This is an exciting time that people can finally come in and get access to genetics, talk to other breeders, talk to other growers, learn the techniques that they’re going to need to have success early on so they stay in the hobby,” organizer Johnny Cannabis said.

Cannabis is one of the demo-class instructors who is providing beginners with valuable information that will allow them to home grow successfully.

He’s proud of the strong turnout, an indicator that cannabis culture is being accepted by Ohioans.

“People have been smoking weed and growing it in Ohio this whole time,” Cannabis said. “It’s been your neighbor, your friend, your doctor, and your uncle. They’re all in this lifestyle, they just had to keep it quiet. Now, people have the ability to come above ground and be proud, or at least not be afraid that they are a cannabis user.”

Close to 40 vendors participated in the Farmers Market selling seeds, fertilizers, clone, art, general merchandise and food.
