No matter what vein or form the product takes, you need to properly look after your purchase. Here are recommended guidelines for when you are storing your kratom:
- Keep it in an airtight container. Humidity can negatively affect your kratom and contaminate it. The best solution is to vacuum seal your container to ensure maximum security. A cooler or more moderate temperature is a good condition for storage. If it is kept in an area that experiences drastic temperature changes, condensation may occur and will affect the kratom in the same way that high humidity levels (see below) can do. You may not be able to use kratom powder if it has been seriously damaged by condensation.
- No matter if you have purchased kratom powder or capsules, be sure to keep them dry. Water can carry bacteria and mould particles. This can infect the product and make you ill, if consumed. Do not place kratom anywhere near water or any water sources. It is best to store them in very dry environments.
- After buying kratom online or from a store, put it in a cool, dark space. A pantry or a cupboard would be the best option. Even better, choose one that is not opened often as UV can degrade the quality of the kratom. Another piece of advice is to keep it in a dark or opaque container. This will decrease the chance of the kratom being affected.
- Do not leave your kratom exposed to the air. If your kratom is regularly left without being sealed or in a container without a lid, then degradation can happen quicker than usual. This is also a factor to keep in mind. For premium kratom leaves and capsules, do not buy them from a retailer who leaves the products exposed to the air, these products will probably not meet health and safety requirements. Reliable vendors will present you with a product that is sealed in an air-tight container.
- Do not put the kratom next to a vent, door or window sill. These types of areas are susceptible to temperature changes and are not regulated as well as a cupboard or container will be. These temperature changes could lead to compromising levels of condensation.
- Refresh your products. The shelf life of kratom is not extremely long. This is because it is a natural product free from preservatives. For the best consumer experience, do not keep old kratom. It is best to buy new capsules or powders every few months or so.
Kratom is a sensitive product because it is all-natural. Be sure to protect your products from humidity, water, UV, and be sure to maintain a regular temperature. This will help to maintain the quality of the kratom and may even help to slightly extend its shelf-life.
