We are seeking a full-time attorney with a minimum of 4-5 years of civil litigation experience to support our boutique real estate law firm. This individual will have a solid knowledge of legal procedures, outstanding communication and negotiation skills and demonstrated problem-solving abilities. Having experience in the real estate industry, specifically supporting escrow is a plus. The firm does perform services for cannabis businesses comparable to the services performed for our real estate industry clients. We currently have 3 attorneys and need another attorney to join our Westlake Village office. In this role, your duties will involve:
- Real Estate and contract related civil ligation;
- Reviewing, negotiating and drafting real estate contracts, leases, management services agreements, operating agreements and partnership agreements;
- Counseling escrow companies and other clients on general governance, regulatory, licensing and some tax issues;
- Representing clients in state regulatory examinations to resolve legal, regulatory and licensing issues;
- Representing clients in wire fraud, privacy breach and identity theft matters vis-à-vis law enforcement and state regulators; and
- Training clients on related mitigation and risk management strategies.
- This role does not require “Rainmaking” but is supported and encouraged.
