Honoring Choice – Sharing Power – Building Diverse Futures
Our vision, our true north is a Beloved Psychedelic Community. In this community, people of all identities are represented and welcomed. They have the skills to keep each other safe and support each other as they navigate their psychedelic experiences. In this Beloved Psychedelic Community, people can fulfill the potential of their psychedelic experiences, leading to healthier, more interconnected, more joyous lives. Making this vision a reality is our work and we are so proud to announce the launching of our Equity Initiative, which will result in the establishment of our Affinity Peer Integration Service and the activation of our Equity Fund.
How It Works
We understand representation matters and offers those who come from historically marginalized communities safety in self-expression and in exploring vulnerability. The Affinity Peer Integration Service will empower our callers and texters from underrepresented communities with the choice to connect to a volunteer sharing their identity.
We will train a cohort of 40 volunteers who are BIPOC, transgender, and/or military veterans to be on-call Psychedelic Peer Support Line volunteers who will be paired with callers and texters seeking to process or integrate past psychedelic experiences. Fireside Project affinity volunteers will also lead free, monthly processing/integration sessions as part of the Equity Initiative. This is just the beginning, and we intend to add more affinity groups over time. The Affinity Peer Integration Service begins June 23, 2022 and will be available Thursdays, Fridays, & Saturdays from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm PT.
Our hope is this type of culturally attuned care builds trust, safety, and grows beloved psychedelic community.
