A tip led El Monte police on Thursday to a commercial building where they found 5,478 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of more than $2 million.
Officers arrested four men on suspicion of cultivating marijuana, El Monte Police Sgt. Mark Snook said. He didn’t release their names citing the ongoing investigation.
El Monte police received a tip Thursday afternoon from another law enforcement agency that there was a possible illegal marijuana grow at the building in the 9000 block of Telstar Avenue, he said. Officers headed there around 2 p.m. and found numerous rooms with marijuana plants in various stages of growth, according to Snook.
