Review: Strawberry Cheesecake Caramels by Bedford Grow
Bedford Grow recently released a new addition to its line of infused caramels, Strawberry Cheesecake, which immediately caught my eye. I stopped into Maribis Springfield on Denver and picked up a sample to review.
Bedford Grow Strawberry Cheesecake Caramels come as a five pack of caramels with 20mg of THC per piece for a total of 100mg of THC. The ingredients are cream, sugar, corn syrup, butter, strawberry fruit paste, cannabis oil, whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, vegetable shortening, honey, leaveners, natural spice and flavorings.
Leaning into the Strawberry Cheesecake flavor, each half-inch rectangle carried a top layer of pink colored caramel sitting atop a bottom layer of graham cracker crust. The two layer candies were visually appealing, but the biggest beneficiary was the mouthfeel as the additional texture made for a much more interesting chew.
The flavor carried bright top notes of sweet candied berries, followed closely by the rich and buttery graham cracker, and the roasted sugar undertone of classic caramel. The benefit of the crust was really multidimensional as it added a complexity to the flavor that really set the chew apart and punched up the cheesecake-iness of the entire experience.
Bedford Grow has consistently provided a clearheaded and euphoric edible buzz, and these caramels were of the same class. Forty-five minutes post caramel, a wide-open headspace and awareness was paired with a tingling sensation that spread throughout my core before turning into a warming pressure that relaxed my muscles for a couple hours. The mental space remained easy going and spacious for the same duration.
Overall, I enjoyed Bedford Grow’s innovative approach to this new flavor and look forward to more new and interesting candies from the kitchen. For more Illinois News Joint reviews, visit here.
