Full Job Description

Mission Statement

We’re on a mission to empower cannabis companies through expert, industry-specific financial knowledge and management.

Company

We are the leading CPA firm focused on the cannabis industry in the United States. We are a fast-growing company with a start-up mentality, having doubled in revenue and size over the last 3 years. Unlike most CPA firms that are bound by geolocation, our clients are remote and spread throughout all 18 legalized states: the markets we serve are limited only by the laws restricting cannabis legalization.

Cannabis is one of the most exciting and rapidly growing industries in the United States, exceeding $17.5B in sales in 2020 and projected to surpass $43B by 2025. GreenGrowth CPAs has positioned itself as the leading expert in tax, financial, and audit services for cannabis companies. Our commitment to providing detailed, accurate and regular content focused on solutions to the financial and accounting complexities of the cannabis industry has helped us earn the trust of current and future clients and has helped our brand become well-known within the cannabis business world.

Role Expectations

We are seeking an experienced CEO to manage the day-to-day operations for our firm. The right candidate must be ready to build and model a great company culture, provide inspired leadership to our executive team, establish a great working relationship with our clients, and set a course for future company strategy.

Our ideal CEO candidate must fit in with our company culture. This role will represent our company, and it is imperative that you share our company’s values. Experience running a firm in a service based company in finance, marketing, or a similar industry could be the best fit for this role. However, any candidate that has an understanding of how to continue moving our company forward would be considered.

Our CEO needs to be an amazing communicator. As a representative of GreenGrowth CPAs, it is important that our CEO can speak with confidence to our team, clients, and the public about what our company is doing and why it is important to cannabis businesses. Our team is extremely goal-oriented, and our CEO must be as well. Our CEO not only needs to know where our company is heading, but how we’re going to get there.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inspired leadership company-wide.
  • Make high-level decisions about policy and strategy.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and a strategic plan.
  • Act as the primary spokesperson for the company.
  • Work with the People Operations Team to continue developing the company’s culture and overall company vision.
  • Work with the People Operations Team to recruit new staff members.
  • Work with the Senior Management Team to continue supporting an environment that promotes great performance and positive morale.
  • Oversee the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
  • Work with senior stakeholders, chief financial officer, chief information officer, and other executives.
  • Assure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Work with the Senior Management Team to determine values and mission, and plan for short and long-term goals.
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company.
  • Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the company.
  • Work closely with the People Operations Team to ensure great hiring and onboarding efforts continue as the company grows.

Skills & Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in a relevant discipline or MBA.
  • Experience in a senior management position.
  • Knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting.
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among management, the service and administrative team, and our clients.
  • Understanding of a People Operations approach to Human Resources.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
  • Ability to understand new issues quickly and make wise decisions.
  • Ability to inspire confidence and create trust.
  • Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively, and delegate.

Working here:

The GreenGrowth CPAs team is composed of perpetual learners, constant collaborators, and driven owners. We’re a CPA firm gone modern: we are mostly remote and espouse people-first principles that aim to provide an amazing employee experience and dynamic company culture. We’re small, so our employees have an immediate and measurable impact on the company’s direction, operations, and our clients’ businesses. The way we work is infused with a high level of trust and autonomy: we hire folks who take initiative and let them run with their ideas.

We’re excited about people who are missionary, values-driven, and interested in this dynamic and growing industry we’re serving. If being a part of this phenomenal opportunity to work in cannabis finance interests you, we’d love to hear from you!
