Twenty-two-year-old Calvin Boone of Long Beach, Calif., was arrested by the Blythe Police Department (BPD) on April 16 following a traffic stop in the area of West Donlon.
“Due to the ongoing opioid epidemic as it specifically pertains to fentanyl use and complaints from citizens in Blythe, Officers from the Blythe Police Department have continued their efforts to target narcotics distribution groups in the City of Blythe,” stated BPD on April 16. “On April 16, 2024, Detectives from the Blythe Police Department conducted a traffic enforcement stop of a vehicle in the 500 block of W Donlon Ave(nue.)”
As noted by BPD, Boone was identified as one of the passengers in the vehicle.
“Boone was subsequently found to in possession of a several pounds of marijuana and a large quantity of US Currency,” stated BPD. “Boone was charged with possession of drugs for sales with a prior conviction.”
As of this print publication’s deadline, the case remains under investigation with no further information released.
