Microdosing

There is so much talk going on about “microdosing”. People asking questions: What is it? How does it work? Search no further as we explore these questions together.

What is Microdosing?

The first question that you’re probably asking yourself right now is what is microdosing? Over the last couple of years, there has been more and more talk about this. Microdosing is referring to taking a small fraction of what is considered a recreational dose of LSD or other hallucinogen (like psilocybin mushrooms, also known as magic mushrooms). A microdose is typically 1/10 to 1/20 of a normal dose or 10 to 20 micrograms.

Reportedly, it has helped to:

  • Improve Moods
  • Activate Physical and Mental Stimulation
  • And open up Creative Thinking

Currently, there are new studies that are supporting the use of hallucinogenic drugs under supervision and guidance by a medical professional. These drugs can be used for treating mental health diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

What Are The Most Common Hallucinogens to Microdose?

Here are some of the more common substances used for microdosing.

  • Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD). LSD is one of the most popular substances used for microdosing.
  • Psilocybin (magic mushroom). Psilocybin has been used to treat depression. People also report feeling more empathic and emotional.
  • Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) – most commonly referred to as the “spirit molecule”. This has been said to aid in anxiety relief and heightened spiritual awareness.

Canadian History on Microdosing

According to an adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia, Canada used to be one of the world leaders in the exploration of psychedelic drugs. Back in the 1950’s Abram Hoffer and Humphry Osmond were the first two, to start experimenting with administering LSD to volunteers, co-workers, friends, family members, and themselves.

Due to the success, this had eventually continued on to treat patients with alcohol addiction, often successfully, and their work was recognized internationally. To this day people who are micro-dosing are continuously having more and more success.
