Marketing Cannabis in the social media age

If you have a cannabis business or consider yourself to be a cannabis entrepreneur, then you know all too well the struggles of marketing your business. It takes countless hours of hard work and dedication to build social media profiles on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and others.

Sadly, for such a green industry it appears that the worth of our businesses and our green isn’t as valuable as others. Facebook is notorious for taking down accounts associated with cannabis. Instagram, well they do it too. Now it appears YouTube has joined the crusade of attacking cannabis channels and pulling them down.

Cannabis is one of the safest if not the safest plant on the planet. No one has ever died from it. So why are people still biting on the bait of draconian cannabis propaganda and supporting prohibition by removing the hard work of others?

This is a good question. The only answer can be because they are still trying to hide the truth. Major media Outlets are controllable. Small individual voices however are not so controllable. They tend to say what they want to say, and they do it uncensored.

The fundamental freedom of speech is exercised to the fullest in this aspect in the United States. Apparently, freedom of speech isn’t free. If a social media platform doesn’t like what you’re saying, or should I say if you have a cannabis business and end up on their radar, chances are you will be shut down.

We’ve Been Marketing It Our Own Way For Years

That’s okay though. It’s a learning process for us all. Merging cannabis into this new sector to become a business has no rule book. That doesn’t mean we have to follow whatever rules are created by social media platforms.  There are other places to go.

Platforms like CannaSOS are proving to be the future for social media marketing and cannabis consumers. Advertise your business, associate with like-minded individuals, and do so without ever worrying about them taking down your hard work.  If you have a cannabis business or consider yourself to be a cannabis entrepreneur, then you know all too well the struggles of marketing your business.

It takes countless hours of hard work and dedication to build social media profiles on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and others. Sadly, for such a green industry it appears that the worst of our businesses and our green isn’t valuable to some.

Some people pay thousands of dollars to help build their social media presence only to have it pulled out from under them. This is not a way to do marketing or business.

When They Move the Cheese, Find It Elsewhere or Go Hungry

There is a story about mice I’d like to share. These mice were part of a test. A group of scientists got together and built a maze in which they could release the mice and observe them. So that is what they did. They placed some cheese in one spot in the maze and watched to see what would happen.

When they released the mice the first time, they started to explore. They found dead ends and learned the right turns eventually leading them to the cheese. One would find the way and the rest would follow. After a few weeks they moved the cheese.

Only one of the mice went and looked for where the cheese had been moved to. The rest, well, let’s just say they went hungry until they started following the other mouse to where the cheese was moved to. Social media platforms want to move our cheese. Ok, we can play that way. See how life treats you when nobody wants the cheese you set out anymore.
