UK Police dog wades waist deep into water to reveal £1 million cannabis factory

PD Captain and his team found more than 100 mature plants and 1,000 seeds, potentially worth seven figures

police dog bravely waded into waist deep water in the dark on his latest mission.

PD Captain uncovered a large cannabis factory near Solihull town centre on the evening of Friday, May 28.

West Midlands Police’s Dog Unit was first on the scene and, when other officers arrived, the dog conducted the search in the dark, using his nose to find the drugs in the water.

As a result more than 100 mature plants and 1,000 seeds were found, worth up to £1 million.

The factory was dismantled on Saturday morning by Solihull St Alphege Neighbourhood Policing Team.

A spokesman for WMP Dog Unit said: “PD Captain and officers were first at this incident, where they discovered a large cannabis factory.

“When other police arrived, he conducted a search in the dark, at times in waist deep water searching for suspects.

“Captain used his nose to good effect, finding property in the water.”
