The Legality of CBD Oil in Easter Europe

Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, is one of the numerous parts of the cannabis plant. The cannabis plant was previously frowned upon by the government because of its Tetrahydrocannabinol component (THC) which is the psychoactive part of the plant. When Cannabidiol was discovered to be a natural remedy for different ailments, some countries began to accept it into their markets.

Cannabidiol has been discovered to relieve pain, control, depression, and anxiety, reduce acne and improve the heart’s condition. The more studies and researches discover more benefits of CBD oil, the more its products gain popularity in the markets of different countries and continents.

CBD in Eastern Europe

Europe has always been an accommodating continent in matters of cannabis and its products. In European countries such as the Netherlands and Spain, people enjoy cannabis with THC openly.

In Eastern European countries such as Belarus, Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania, Poland and Russia, CBD oil is also legal. Others such as Slovakia and Albania frown against the hemp product.

Bulgaria

In Bulgaria, the laws on the control of narcotic substance place restrictions on some parts of the cannabis plant. This includes THC and other parts with psychoactive elements. Any cannabis product that has less than 0.2 percent of THC is legal in the country. This law makes CBD oil from hemp legal as it has a very small percentage of THC.

Czech Republic

CBD oil is legal in the Czech Republic. According to the law of the country, any cannabis product under 0.3 percent is legal. Despite the hemp law in this country, cannabis products can be bought in stores throughout the country. This means that the THC level in these cannabis products barely matters. CBD oil can be sold and consumed openly in the country. And when the laws come in, CBD oil contains less than 0.3 percent of THC.

Hungary

The Hungarian law states that cannabis products with over 0.2 percentage of THC are illegal. Asides this, the Hungarian law does not have definite laws that ban cannabis or its products. Cannabis products can be openly consumed. This makes CBD oil legal in the country.

Croatia

Croatian laws have been accommodating of the cultivation of marijuana plants since the year 2012. According to the country’s laws, cannabidiol products are legal as long as their THC is lesser than 0.2 percent. This makes CBD oil legal in the country as it contains less than 0.2 percent of THC.

Poland

In Poland, the laws do not specifically restrict the use of cannabidiol. According to the Poland law, hemp products which contain less than 0.2 percent of THC are legal. The country has participated in the cultivation of these hemp plants with less than that percentage of THC. For this reason, CBD oil can be used without any restrictions from the law.

Romania

The Romanian law has no specific restrictions against cannabidiol gotten from cannabis plants. This means that not only is CBD oil legal in Romania, but also other cannabidiol plants. CBD oil can be sold and consumed in Romania without restriction from the government.

Slovakia

Slovakia is one country in Europe where cannabidiol, along with other cannabis components, is frowned upon. The Slovakian law states that cannabidiol is on the psychoactive narcotic list. In this country, CBD oil is illegal. The sales and consumption of oil in the country is punishable by law.

Ukraine

Under Ukrainian law, CBD oil is legal. The law permits the consumption and sales of CBD oil. This is because according to the Ukrainian laws, CBD oil does not contain much percentage of the THC in the cannabis plant.

Albania

Though the Albanian law does not legalize the use of cannabis or any of its products, it is not criminalized. This means people can be found making personal use of cannabis products and not suffer any type of prosecution. When caught to have them in huge amounts for reasons other than personal use though, it could land a person in jail. This means CBD oil kept in small amounts for personal use is not punishable by law in Albania.

Moldova

In Moldova, cannabis and most of its products are illegal. The country’s law puts them all in the category of psychotropic substances with no medical value. The laws state that cannabis oil from the amount of 0.05g is a large quality and is frowned upon. Though different bodies are working towards the legalization of CBD oil in the country, for now, it is still seen as illegal.

CBD oil is still an upcoming product in the market and is not fully accepted in all the eastern European countries. It is important to check the legalization of cannabis in a country before purchasing it to avoid facing prosecution by the law.
