The FDA will treat products as drugs if the labeling or marketing of those products suggests they are “intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease.” The FTC has issued warning letters to companies that advertise their CBD-infused products as treatments or cures for serious medical conditions.

But, this will most probably change in the future, as medical research is supporting the use of CBD for the treatment of many pathologies and health issues. Cannabis has three main groups: Cannabis Sativa, Cannabis Indica, and Cannabis Ruderalis. CBD derived from hemp under these conditions is perfectly fine.
