Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) made far fewer cannabis-related arrests in 2019 than in previous years. Let’s take a closer look at what DEA data reveals. Per the DEA’s Domestic Cannabis Eradication/Suppression Program (DCESP) , a whopping 4,003,194 cannabis plants were seized and destroyed in 2019.

In May 2019, Denver became the first city to decriminalize psilocybin, followed by Oakland, CA, Washington, D.C., DEA and the Controlled Substances Act.

On the other side of the country our nation’s capital has its own ballot initiative on psychedelics, Initiative 81, formally known as the Entheogenic Plant and Fungus Policy Act of 2020. Psilocybin remains a Schedule 1 drug, meaning the DEA says it has a high likelihood of abuse and no accepted medical use – just like marijuana.
